How to Play

Objective

Be the first player to knock out 6 of your opponent's Hoodlums to win the game.

Deck Building

Build a deck of exactly 60 cards. Your deck can contain any combination of Hoodlum cards, Energy cards, Trainer cards, and Item cards. Use the Deck Box to build and save your decks.

Setting Up

  1. Each player shuffles their 60 card deck.
  2. Each player draws 7 cards as their starting hand.
  3. Each player places 6 cards face down as Prize cards.
  4. Each player places a Basic Hoodlum Baby Hoodlum stage face down as their Active Hoodlum.
  5. Each player may place up to 5 additional Basic Hoodlums face down on their Bench.
  6. Both players flip their Active Hoodlums face up and the game begins.

Turn Structure

  1. Draw a card from your deck.
  2. Play cards from your hand, evolve Hoodlums, attach one Energy card, play Trainer cards, attach Item cards.
  3. Attack with your Active Hoodlum, optional, ends your turn.
  4. End turn.

Energy

Attacks cost Energy. Attach one Energy card per turn to any of your Hoodlums. Each attack shows how many Energy cards are required to use it.

Evolution

Hoodlums evolve through three stages. Place a Hoodlum card on top of a Baby Hoodlum to evolve it, then place a Hood Lord card on top to reach the final stage. Evolved Hoodlums are more powerful. You cannot evolve a Hoodlum on the same turn it was played.

Attacking

Choose one of your Active Hoodlum's attacks if you have the required Energy attached. The attack deals damage to the opponent's Active Hoodlum. When a Hoodlum's HP reaches zero it is knocked out and sent to the discard pile. The opposing player takes one of their Prize cards into their hand.

Weakness and Resistance

Each Hoodlum has a Weakness and Resistance to specific element types. Attacks from the weakness type deal double damage. Attacks from the resistance type deal 20 less damage.

Winning

Collect all 6 of your Prize cards by knocking out opponent Hoodlums to win. You also win if your opponent cannot draw a card at the start of their turn.

Trainer Cards

Play Trainer cards from your hand for immediate one-time effects. Draw cards, heal Hoodlums, search your deck, and more. Discard after use.

Item Cards

Attach Item cards to your Hoodlums for permanent passive bonuses that stay in play until that Hoodlum is knocked out.
